Our Maintenance Process

We work with clients to create maintenance plans that ensure the long term success of their gardens. If you are interested in hiring us for  maintenance services, please see below:

Frequency of Maintenance

Following the installation of a design, we recommend ongoing comprehensive site maintenance for the first three years. Site maintenance includes weed removal, pruning, and plant replacement as needed. If working with us for your maintenance needs, we recommend to schedule maintenance visits as follows:

Year

Frequency

Year 1

Monthly Visits

Year 2

Quarterly Visits

Year 3

Annual to Biannual Visits

Please note that while maintenance needs for a mature native garden are low, they are not zero.

Maturation Timeline

Year 1

Year1.png

White space represents open ground where weeds have the opportunity to germinate. Within the first year there will be more open space while young plants are at immature size.

Year 2

Year2.png

Growth from desirable plants increases and reduces the space that weeds have to grow.

Year 3

Year3.png

The edges of plants touch each other and overlap, closing off the ground and making it difficult for weed seeds to germinate and gather sunlight.
